BASIC SURVEY
This course is the entry level for further training into the Mining and Engineering field and have been developed to expose the learner to mine surveying and enable demonstration of competence. It serves as 4 week start up course consisting of a 2 week theoretical and a 2 week practical syllabus covering the basic priciples of surveying with a total station.
ELEMENTARY SURVEY
This successful completion of the course will enable the student to enter for the COM Elementary Survey Examination.This course is aimed at providing an elementary understanding of mine surveying and tasks as performed by a surveyor or anyone needing an elementary understanding of surveying. It serves as a more detailed course consisting of 2 weeks of intense training on specific deep level and open cast mine surveying concepts.
ADVANCE
SURVEY
This course is ideally suited to candidates who have obtained the Chamber of Mines the Elementary Mine Surveying qualifications and who are looking to career promotion, or more importantly, who are further looking to undertake the Mine Surveyors Certificate of Competency examination. A 2 week course covering resections, boreholes and learning how to produce a scaled map of a working mine. This course will cover the theoretical part only. This course is not yet available online.

BASIC SAMPLING
This course is the entry level for further training into the Sampling and Valuation and have been developed to expose the learner to mine surveying and enable demonstration of competence. It serves as a 2 week course learning the Basic Principles applicable in the sampling procedures used for underground mining.
ELEMENTARY SAMPLING
This successful completion of the course will enable the student to enter for the COM Elementary Sampling Examination.
This course is aimed at providing an elementary understanding of mine sampling and tasks as performed by a sampling or anyone needing an elementary understanding of sampling. This course will also cover Unit Standards from the QCTO to enable Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) during further studies through the QCTO. This course is aimed at providing an elementary understanding of mine sampling and tasks as performed by a sampler or anyone needing an elementary understanding of sampling. It serves as a 2 week course covering development sampling, borehole sampling as well as mineral content in different stages of the mining procedure.
ADVANCE VALUATION
This successful completion of the course will enable the student to enter for the COM Valuation Examination.
This course is aimed at providing understanding of an Advance Valuation and tasks as performed by a Valuator.
2 week course covering all aspects in the ore flow and valuation processes of working mine. Block factors, Gold Factors and Life of mine forms all part of this detailed course. This course is not yet available online.
BASIC MATHEMATICAL PRINCIPLES FOR
JUNIOR SURVEYORS
Basic Mathematical Principles for Junior Surveyors is designed specifically for individuals who didn't study Mathematics in high school or pursued Mathematics Literacy. This comprehensive program is tailored to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to qualify for entry into the Basic Survey or Basic Sampling Chamber of Mines Examinations.
